My Family
I married my high school sweetheart, Joey Snell, and we have been together a total of 31 years. Gibson, our 17 year old son and our beautiful 16 year old girl, Gracyn, keep us extremely busy with Wildcat football, softball, volleyball, & track. We split our vacation between Lake Martin and the Florida beaches where we like to camp and spend most of our time on the water. One interesting fact about me is that I am deaf in my left ear. At 8 years old, I dove to the bottom of our pool to collect coins and my ear popped. The cells in my inner ear were damaged and those cells happen to be the very few in the human body that do not regenerate. The most important things in my life are God, my family, and my passion for education.
My Passion
Partnering with Educators & Supporting Learners
Future Teachers of Alabama, ECTC CTSO
2019-2023
Students involved in my CTSO, Future Teachers of Alabama, bought Christmas coats and gifts for students at Harrand Creek Elementary School. This act of kindness and generosity turned out to be more of a blessing for my FTA students than it was for the children receiving the gifts. FTA students were also involved in planning and designing learning activities for high school teachers' children after school. The teachers were able to finish their work at the end of the day while FTA students played games, tutored, and made crafts with their children.

Meaningful Learning Experiences
2018-2019
Students in Earth & Space science were challenged with identifying an environmental issue and developing a solution. The process included identifying a topic, creating a driving question, listing all ALCOS standards involved in the learning process, and developing a solution to be shared with a public audience. One team of students designed a community garden that focused on supporting bees. They presented their idea to Mayor Bill Cooper of Enterprise. A second team designed t-shirts to help support recovery efforts in Mexico Beach, FL after the devastation caused by hurricane Michael. All proceeds from selling shirts were donated to Mexico Beach.

Wildcat Warehouse
2006-2013
At-risk students had an opportunity to earn tickets as positive reinforcement. Students spent their tickets in the "Wildcat Warehouse" store at the end of each 9 wks. All items in the store were donated by the Enterprise High School Faculty. Students developed the list of actions that would earn them tickets, developed and voted on the name of the store, and created the rules that would govern the spending of the tickets. This "Wildcat Warehouse" tradition started at the original high school in 2005, carried over to ESCC after the 2007 tornado, and moved into our new high school facility in 2010.

2012 Fort Rucker Woman of The Year
Guest Speaker
As the 2012 Teacher of the Year for Enterprise City Schools, I was invited to speak at the Woman of the Year ceremony at Fort Rucker Aviation Museum. The theme of the ceremony was women in education and their contributions to meeting the needs of diverse learners. Teaching at-risk students in co-taught classes gave me the awesome opportunity to share my passion for the success of all students with our partners in Fort Rucker.
